When it comes to ranking the best restaurants in the world, the World Culinary Awards are a relative newcomer to the scene. Only in its second year, the WCAs are voted for by a mix of food experts, restaurateurs and customers. Out the other end comes a slew of titles, including the best restaurant on each continent and the best in the entire world.

So if you’re planning a trip to Europe this year, where should you head for the best of the best? Well, out of 45 nominees, the crown of ‘Europe’s Best Restaurant’ was awarded to Uliassi in Senigallia, Italy. Founded in 1990, the restaurant holds the maximum of three Michelin stars.

So what exactly is it that makes Uliassi so good? Each year, Uliassi’s ‘lab’ concocts ten new dishes, mostly featuring lots of incredibly fresh fish. The restaurant itself sits by the Adriatic Sea with views out over a canal. All in all, it seems like a worthy contender for the title. You can find out more on the restaurant’s official website here.

If you’re planning a trip to Senigallia, you should know it’s a town on Italy’s east coast, between Rimini and Ancona. It’s known for its miles of sandy beaches, its Roman fortifications and, now, for being home the best restaurant on the whole damn continent. Book accordingly.
