Crisp linen, fluffy pillows and room service – is there anything better than hunkering down for the night in a nice hotel? Sometimes, they’re so good – with amenities ranging from on-site indulgent spas to one-of-a-kind swimming pools – it’s hard to peel yourself away and venture outside.

Certainly, there’s no need to leave the comfort of your suite with the incredible collection handpicked by the Michelin Guide. The tyre manufacturer’s elusive inspectors have been secretly testing out hotels, and the renowned guide has just unveiled the best hotels across the world for 2025, including over 1,000 in Europe. Here are some of our top picks from the list.

Nothing is cooler than timeless elegance, and the De L’Europe in Amsterdam is the epitome of just that. It’s one of Europe’s newest three Michelin Key hotels – ‘Keys’ are the hotel equivalent of Michelin stars for restaurants – so you can bet it’s an unforgettable stay.

First opened in 1896, the hotel has undergone a series of renovations but never altered its classic European DNA. Think plush velvet furnishings, huge ceilings and opulent chandeliers at every turn.

Here’s our guide to Amsterdam’s best hotels, reviewed by experts.

For the ultimate escapism, though, book En Hotel in Poland. Guests will feel they’ve returned to nature as the hotel is set within the enchanting Tatra National Park. To cement the feeling of blissful seclusion from the outside world, parked cars are forbidden, so to reach En Hotel, you’ll meet one of its drivers in the nearby mountain town of Zakopane.

Once settled, guests can enjoy both the hotel’s breathtaking surroundings and one of the 15 ‘memorably stylish and quietly luxe rooms’, according to the Michelin Guide.

Elsewhere, Hotel Pacai holds the distinction of being the only hotel in Vilnius with a Michelin Key and one of only two in Lithuania. Striking a perfectly tuned balance between modern and old, the hotel incorporates the building’s distinguished history (it was a noble residence) with contemporary touches.

There are, for example, exposed brick and industrial concrete walls, coupled with parquet flooring and original 15th-century tiles. Basically, you’ll feel like modern-day Baltic nobility as a guest at Hotel Pacai.

Other cool hotels across Europe getting the Michelin nod include the luxury boutique hotel The Place Firenze, in Florence, which looks as though it’s missing an ‘a’ in the name given its striking design; glamorous beachfront retreat The Four Season Astir Palace on the Athens Riveria, where previous guests have included Nelson Mandela and Jackie Kennedy; and the hip Porto hotel, Hotel Torel Avantgarde.
