This is officially the best spa hotel in London in 2025

When was the last time you booked yourself in for a proper pamper?

Can’t remember? Consider this your sign to schedule in some R&R. Time Out’s writers have stayed in spa hotels across the capital to decide which deserve the title of London’s best. Thirteen establishments made the cut, but our number one goes above and beyond, and treats relaxation like a serious art form. 

We named Hotel Café Royal on Regent’s Street the finest spa hotel in London for 2025. It’s slap bang in one of the most hectic parts of London, but once you’re through that revolving door, we promise that serenity will wash over you in an instant.  

Time Out contributor Chris Sayer tested the luxury hotel out earlier this year and called it ‘an opulent fusion of heritage glamour and contemporary sophistication’. Most importantly, he described it’s basement spa, Akasha Holistic Wellbeing, as ‘one of London’s most impressive spa retreats’.

A marbled labyrinth with an 18-metre lap pool, hammam, sauna, steam room and bubbling Jacuzzis, it’s got everything you could possibly need to completely and utterly unwind. It’s also home to London’s first Watsu treatments, in which you can enjoy shiatsu massage whilst floating in your own private 35C-heated pool. 

Chris added: ‘Akasha is about more than indulgence—it’s genuinely holistic. Nine serene treatment rooms (including a spacious double suite) sit alongside a well-equipped gym, yoga and meditation studios, and a treatment menu that blends Eastern traditions with cutting-edge techniques.’

When it comes to the rest of your stay, you can expect generous, elegant rooms, ‘faultless’ service and Michelin-star level dining at hotel’s Cafe Royal Grill or Cake & Bubbles café. Of course, that kind of luxurious relaxation doesn’t come cheap. To stay here, you’re looking at around £790 for a room per night.
