The White Lotus was one of the breakout TV hits of last year. After scooping multiple awards, HBO has wasted no time bringing it back for more.

The brilliantly bitchy but razor-sharp first season focused on the entitled, boozy guests and the exhausted staff of a luxury hotel in Hawaii. Season 2 sees the show shifting to a hotel on the coast of Italy, with an almost entirely new cast and more chaos, romance, scandal and murder in store.

Here’s all you need to know about the second season of The White Lotus.

When is The White Lotus back for season two?

The White Lotus is back on October 30. In the UK, episodes will air on Sky Atlantic at 3am on Mondays, with a less sleep-disrupting repeat screening at 9pm on Monday evenings. The episodes will also be available to watch on-demand via Now TV.

American fans can watch new episodes every Sunday at 9pm ET on HBO and it will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

Showrunner Mike White is the creator, writer, director and executive producer behind the series and he must be doing something right after The Lotus House scooped ten awards at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Is there a trailer for The White Lotus season two?

Yes! Check it out below to see some of the action set to unfold when The White Lotus returns.

Do you need to watch season one to understand The White Lotus?

It seems like the second season of The White Lotus is mostly standalone, with only Jennifer Coolidge and Jon Gries returning as lovers Tanya McQuoid and Greg. Unless there’s a surprise twist, it’s unlikely that many storylines will be connected elsewhere in the season.

However, if you did want to do your homework before the second season arrives, then the complete first season is available to watch on Now TV.

Who is in the cast of The White Lotus season two?

American Pie star Jennifer Coolidge is back as spoilt heiress, and season 1 MVP, Tanya McQuoid. She’s continuing her ongoing hunt for inner peace, alongside her lover Greg, once again played by Napoleon Dynamite’s Jon Gries.

Apart from those two, don’t expect to see any other returning faces in season two. Much like the upcoming Knives Out movie, the sequel is a fresh start. Does that make Jennifer Coolidge the luxe version of Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc? Maybe so.

Other guests coming to stay at The White Lotus include The Sopranos’ Michael Imperioli as Dominic Di Grasso, a man on a tense family trip with his father Bert (Scarface and Amadeus great, F Murray Abraham) and son Albie, played by newcomer Adam Di Marco.

Parks and Recreations star Aubrey Plaza takes on the role of Harper, a woman dragged along to the luxury retreat by her recently wealthy husband Ethan (British actor Will Sharpe), and his obnoxiously pretentious friends Cameron (Divergent’s Theo James) and Daphne (Meghann Fahy).

Italian actress Sabrina Impacciatore will be trying to keep the unruly guests in line as hotel manager Valentina, while The Edge of Seventeen’s Haley Lu Richardson plays Tanya's put-upon assistant, Portia.

Where was The White Lotus filmed?

Filming for The White Lotus season two began in February 2022 and took place at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Sicily

With origins dating back to 1374, the building was transformed into a luxurious hotel in 1896 and has hosted some of history’s most illustrious guests, including Oscar Wilde, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.

While this season takes place in Italy, the first was set and filmed on location in Hawaii, with the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea filling in for the fictional resort.

It all kicks off on October 30 on HBO. As the saying goes, let’s fun!
