Schitt's Creek found a whole new world of fans over the past year. If you’re like us, you found the laugh-out-loud antics of the Rose family to be a soothing comedic balm for uncertain times. It’s the kind of quotable, meme-able show that cuts across generations and sensibilities, with everyone identifying with (or striving to be like) some aspect of parents Johnny and Moira and their always-up-to-something offspring, David and Alexis. Insiders know that a trip to Canada is required to visit the stand-in for the now-iconic Rosebud Motel, but US-based fans can now visit an incredible replica thanks to an eclectic collectible shop in the charming college town of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
The Lucky Rabbit is a 15,000 square foot nostalgia store filled with unique treasures that was once featured on the HGTV show Hometown. Known for near-exact replicas of sets from the likes of The Office, Stranger Things and Home Alone, The Lucky Rabbit does not disappoint with its latest, dubbed the Roseburg Motel. From the Motel’s famous welcome sign to Moira’s iconic wig wall, you can view, and snap pics in some of your favorite spots from the show. There are also fun finds like a Cafe Tropical menu, Rose Apothecary cream and an area dedicated to Moira’s film work in The Crows Have Eyes 3. A pic with the Schitt’s Creek town welcome sign is a must for any fan’s Instagram.
The Roseburg Motel is free, no tickets required, but hurry — it’s only on display through October 31. The Lucky Rabbit, located in downtown Hattiesburg at 217 Mobile Street, is open to the public on Saturdays from 9am-6pm and Sundays from 11am-5pm. So grab your wigs and your most fabulous outfits, brush up on your quotes and head to the Magnolia State for an up close and personal Schitt’s Creek experience.
