As the first of its kind in Asia, Time Out Market Osaka has been a foodie and cultural hub of the city since opening in March 2025. This curated market not only brings together some of the Kansai region’s most renowned chefs and restaurateurs – including several Michelin-rated ones – it also hosts regular arts and music events.

This unique character of Time Out Market Osaka, which sets it apart from other food courts around, will be fully showcased for the venue’s first anniversary on Saturday March 21 – and it will be a full-day affair. Here’s what you can expect at the Time Out Market Osaka 1st anniversary celebration.

With 17 eateries and two bars to choose from, it’s incredibly easy to hit that minimum spend of ¥1,000. You could feast on juicy fried chicken from Michelin-starred yakitori restaurant Ayamuya, unique sharikoma sushi from Kitaro Sushi, Osaka soul food okonomiyaki from Koala Shokudo, and more.

The lucky draw segment runs from 11am to 3pm, perfect for brunch or lunch.

Come back at night for the grand party

Come evening, Time Out Market Osaka will dial up the energy and throw a party you’ll remember. Aside from live performances, guest DJs will take over the decks to amp up the mood and get your feet tapping.

You can expect to see renowned club DJ Hiroshi Kawanabe, who’s a key producer behind the popular experimental hip hop band Tokyo No.1 Soul Set, as well as Kentaro Ochiai, the Osaka-based radio DJ known for his Apple Music broadcast ‘J-Pop Now Radio’. Make sure you catch Krewe of Brass in action; this New Orleans-style brass band is made up of rising street performers and pioneers of Japan’s brass band scene.

Throughout the evening, all eateries at Time Out Market Osaka will be serving exclusive dishes created just for the party. You’ll be spoilt for choice with 32 options. These include a rice croquette and Unzen ham cutlet set (¥1,000) at Kushiage001, the offshoot of Bib Gourmand-rated Kushiage010; a half-and-half Nara pickles and margherita pizza (¥2,000) at Pizza Timewarp ∈Lacerba; and Hong Kong-style stir-fried beef tenderloin (¥2,000) from Gihan Siumei.

Admission to the party costs ¥5,000: ¥3,000 in meal tickets plus ¥2,000 for all-you-can-drink. The latter is a particularly good deal, as normally at Time Out Market Osaka, an all-you-can-drink plan will set you back ¥3,500 for two hours. For this special night, however, you’ll enjoy free-flow drinks for up to five hours. And if you need additional meal tickets, they are available for purchase.

The 1st anniversary night party runs from 5pm to 10pm. For more information about the day’s celebration, check Time Out Market Osaka’s Instagram.
