The body has always been the principal material of Hannah Villiger, a major Swiss artist who died in 1997 at the age of 45. Above all, her own body, which she spent more than 20 years photographing in every detail, without shame or narcissism, but rather with the detached gaze or an insect orbiting the human body, beady eyes roving over the skin. The Swiss Cultural Centre has put together a little-known selection of polaroids, smoky self-portraits which are a delicious challenge to more traditional nudes.
