Time Out says

A history of the Parisian graffiti scene in photos, plus film screenings and live rap.

Once considered vandalism, street art is emerging as a fully-fledged art form on a par with any other medium, and events like this ‘history in photos’ event at the Centre Musical Goutte d’Or-Barbara certainly help. Spearheaded by legendary graffiti crew the Scred Connexion (a staple of the French rap scene in the 1990s), this celebration of all things street art marks the 18th anniversary of the collective and sketches a history of the key Parisian movements and names, from 1982 to the present day. On at the 18th arrondissement arts centre from 16-17 January, ‘Paris History X of Graffiti’ will showcase not only rare photos, but also archive documents and newspaper clippings, plus a projection of Marc-Aurèle Vecchione’s ‘Writers’ film. In the evenings, head over to jazzy nightclub New Morning, for performances by legendary rap outfits including La Rumeur, the X-Men and Les Sages Poètes de la Rue.
