Paula Rego has already had the honour of a personal exhibition at the Tate in 2004 and a retrospective at Madrid’s Reina Sofia Museum in 2007, yet this doyenne of figurative art remains strangely unknown in France. Thankfully the Calouste Gulbenkian Portuguese Cultural Centre is aiming to rectify that by displaying 30 major and recent works up until the 1st April.
