The cream of Paris’s contemporary art galleries take a summer break at a park in Sèvres

Polaris, Triple V, Loevenbruck and Cortex Athletico are just some of the cutting-edge Paris art galleries who have set up their summer outposts in the gardens of the Cité de la Céramique at Sèvres for the second edition of Sèvres Outdoors.

The initiative was set up by the Galeries Mode d’Emploi association, part of the Fondation Ricard. A lovely selection of installations and sculpture find new summer homes away from their white cubes, in green fields where the artworks gain new impact. Look out for works by Johan Creten, Mathieu Mercier, Yue Minjun, Laurent Tixador and Dewar & Gicquel in particular. In your perambulations across the finely clipped lawns, you might also come across a wacky chandelier (Vivien Roubaud), alternative umbrellas (Georges Tony Stoll), an evil-looking flower (Clémence Van Lunen), short film screenings (Emilie Brout and Maxime Marion) and much more. As long as the sun is shining, we can recommend this joyous collection without reservation.
