Swamp Club

Imagine a shack mounted on stilts in the midst of a vast swamp, wherein resides a motley crew of artists – the last bastion of human society amid an encroaching jungle that will soon swallow it up… An apt metaphor for the precarious state of the cultural sphere today, and one that set designer Philippe Quesne and his irrepressible Vivarium Studio weave into a fantastical celebration of their own eclectic artistic influences: classical music, superhero comics, Flemish paintings and more. The collective, which boasts comedians, artists, musicians and a dog among its diverse membership, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year; this wildly imaginative performance, as enjoyable as its message is sincere, makes for a fitting celebration.
