This intimate, no-frills café on the buzzing Rue Saint-Maur offers customers reasonably priced cocktails (€5 until 9pm, then €8-€9) in a lively, trendy setting. It’s always busiest (but never overwhelming) at the weekend, as live electro DJ sets get the clientele nodding and bopping along, while the smiley staff snake around the venue serving drinks and nibbles.
Food wise, there’s a decent breakfast at €7 (hot drink, fresh fruit juice and toast or pastries) and a brilliant afternoon mint tea served with gooey homemade cake. In the evening, however, it’s worth eating before you come, as the dinner menu isn’t anything special.
