Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

A 20th arrondissement bar serving more than 100 bottle craft beers, eight rotating draught beers and natural wines.

What should I drink? Any of the rotating beers on draught.

Old clichés die hard: to most, rock bars are where you go to wig out to a bunch of overamped musicians while getting pissed on Kronenbourg and Kanterbrau. That stereotype is now at least half-false, as an increasing number of these music venues begin to branch out into 'quality' brews. Les Trois 8 opened after a renovation in 2013 with a new remit to match its fresh look: instead of cheap lager on tap, its clientele would henceforth sip craft beers and organic wine.

The shift toward microbreweries is certainly of a piece with the newly tasteful decor, and all but the most gentrification-phobic boozers will welcome the change. You can now choose between around eight brews, ranging from the moderately bitter Northmaen Blonde (€4.50 per pint) to the dark and stormy Kernel Export India Porter (€9.50). If beer is the religion at Les Trois 8, heretics are tolerated – a decent range of wines is also on offer. The venue is cosy, at times excessively so (arrive early if you want to nab a seat), and the staff are helpful when it comes to selecting your beverage. Events include blind tasting on Tuesday evenings.
