Paris Yacht has to be the city's quirkiest place to sleep - as long as you don't get seasick. Bobbing peacefully on the Left Bank opposite the Ile St-Louis and five minutes' walk from Notre-Dame, this two-cabin houseboat was built in 1933, and has been in service everywhere from Bastia to the Canal de Bourgogne. Now converted to accommodate up to four guests (welcomed with a bottle of champagne from the owners), the boat is equipped with everything from central heating to high-speed internet. During the summer, the terrace on the upper deck provides the perfect Seine-side setting for dinner.
