However, tucked away on a quiet road between Bonne Nouvelle and Strasbourg Saint-Denis, near the famous Palais Garnier opera house, Régina Opéra offers an exotic stay at a very reasonable price. With the opera house on its doorstep, it is only natural the hotel should be opera-themed.
The corridor and the reception area set the tone, with the space behind the reception desk styled on Chagall’s famous ceiling of the Opéra Garnier. Musical scores are printed on the breakfast and bar tables but it is the bright red rooms which are the most overt tribute to the Palais Garnier. The beds could be more comfortable and the decor a little more subtle, but we salute their commitment to the theme, with touches like a retro-lit desk often found in performance dressing rooms. All that remains is to warm up your vocal chords and prepare for your solo in a wonderfully kitsch hotel that will charm any opera enthusiast.
