Though based in Germany, Jennifer Cardini has managed to establish herself as one of the ringleaders of the French house scene thanks to her long-term residency at the Rex. She was one of the pioneering DJs responsible for filtering German techno, American house, and British IDM (Aphex Twin is a touchstone) into French dance music in the '90s. She remains a formidable presence in Paris, and her sets are a must for clubbers in the capital.
After a promising early career on British producer James Holden's Border Community label, Chilean musician Ricardo Tobar released his brilliant debut 'Treillis' last October. If it's anything to go by, expect a thrilling set of techno that stays heavy without skimping on melody.
Rounding out the lineup in Konstantin Sibold, whose sophisticated house tracks range from the soft and sensual (check out 'Dome' below) to the dark and abrasive ('Madeleine').
