When? August 6-September 18 2016
What? A series of free classical music concerts in the sunshine.
Where? The Parc Floral
Held in the Parc Floral in the Bois de Vincennes, Classique au Vert returns to Paris this summer with another brilliant series of free open air concerts. Featuring classical music in many different guises, this year the series offers an awesomely diverse programme, ranging from the Amazing Keystone Big Band playing jazz variations on Saint Saen’s ‘Carnival of the Animals’ to Trio SR9, a percussion group who put a daring modern twist on classical standards (think Bach and Stravinsky but with marimbas). There’ll be some more traditional concerts too, of course, with the Classique au Vert Orchestra taking on Britten, Prokofiev and Shostakovich on the ‘Delta Stage’ that overlooks the lake.
Inspired by all the fantastic live music and want to get involved yourself? There will also be 14 concerts on the ‘amateur’ stage, as well as meet-and-greets with the artists, and even singing workshops where everyone can get stuck in and make friends with fellow music fans.
