Four venues, 25,000 square metres of dancefloor, 30,000 smiling ravers and 22 hours of non-stop music. And if you think those numbers are big, just wait till you see the lineup.
The freewheeling centrepiece of the annual Weather Festival, this mammoth party at the Parc des Expositions du Bourget kicks off at noon on Saturday June 7 and runs until 10am the following day; over that time, the four separate stages – each themed around a season of the year – will host the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Ben Klock, Antigone, DJ Deep, Marcel Dettmann and Chris Liebing. House and techno are the order of the day. For our money, the best music will be at the soul- and disco-flavoured spring stage: UK funk house wunderkind Floating Points, Detroit house grandee Moodymann and German producer Motor City Drum Ensemble head the bill.
A grand day out, then, and decisive proof that France can now hold its own on the dance festival circuit.
