Mixing jangling folk with guitar feedback and avant-garde fretwork, Wilco have long been one of the more intriguing bands on the American alt rock scene. What's lost on people who've only heard them on record is quite how commanding they can be live, helped along by the fertile creative tension between frontman Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline, the experimental guitarist who joined the group in 2004.
