This popular restaurant has rebranded as a ‘café rôtisserie’ offering top traditional French cooking.

Located right in the heart of the historic Notre-Dame-de-Paris district, the popular Chez Clément rebranded as a ‘café rôtisserie’ in 2015, making it more impressive than ever. Easily the best of its eight branches, Chez Clément proposes inventive takes on traditional French cooking, using only the finest seasonal produce. The characterful dishes on offer include exquisite charcuterie and cheese platters, freshly spit-roasted Auvergne chickens (free range, of course), as well as a host of fantastic wines and cocktails to enjoy on the terrace. The smiley waiting staff make this is a jolly, welcoming spot for lunch or dinner.

Since I can't go lower than 1 star.....where to even start with this place. They "lost" our reservation, even though it was a completely empty restaurant, then made a stink over seating us, in again, a completely empty restaurant outside of "normal" Parisian dining hours which should have been no problem since it's continuous service and we showed them the email and text confirmation of said RSVP that they had confirmed. They told my Wife a flat "No" when she ordered a drink, without a reason, only to see the table outside receive the very same drink about 10 minutes later. The last straw was actually being seated, given filthy food-stained menus, ignored for 20 minutes and then seeing a mouse in the middle of the dining room floor look a little TOO comfortable for broad daylight hours. The kicker was their online reservation system the next day sending me an email saying: "You didn't make your reservation with us last night, is everything alright? Will you rate our service?" Wrong move. Even if you only wanted an aperitif, I wouldn't recommend this to my enemies, especially considering all of the other options with all of the fantastic food and service we received in Paris while there on Honeymoon.
