G by Gaspard proves that the ‘gourmet sandwich’ is more than just a concept. In a crafty marriage of Western fast food culture and Indian gastronomy, this canteen serves healthy, takeaway sandwiches on fresh-baked naan. The naan is prepared in a tandoori oven in full view of diners and stuffed with the seasoned produce of their choice (spring veggies, oriental or specialities from the Auvergne region of France). The two sides offered – new potatoes and sweet potatoes – are a pleasant change from the usual chips. And to end lunch on a sweet note, there’s the delectable salted caramel naan.
