Tucked away down a quaint side street, near the Pompidou Centre in Paris’ 3rd arrondissement, Heureux Comme Alexandre is a fab little fondue restaurant. This - the Beaubourg branch - is the newest in a chain of three that has been feeding hungry Parisians for over 20 years. For just 15€, diners are offered a tasty meal of “eat as much as you like” salad, homemade sautéed potatoes plus a meat or cheese fondue or pierrade - a traditional French dish cooked on a hot stone. The décor is traditional; lots of cosy burgundy velvet banquettes and retro French artwork on old stone walls. Heureux Comme Alexandre’s brilliant value makes it the perfect spot for leisurely lunches and casual dinners with friends or family.
