Corking views across the rooftops of Eastern Paris are not the only draw of Le Grand 8. This red-fronted French neighbourhood bistro fairly near the Sacre Coeur is big on moreish, simple meals formed with finesse from organic, artisanal produce. Think top-notch ‘happy’ duck breast with two whole apples, or tender tuna brochette with sweet-as-you-like baby veg. Team such honest dishes with a beautiful, pesticide-free, weekly-changing French wine list and a pain-free bill at the end, and you get a not inconsiderable amount of contentment at Le Grand 8. Not just among the diners, either; the waiting staff are lovely.
