Le Lion Indomptable restaurant in Paris' 20th arrondissement between Pere Lachaise and Place de la Reunion could better be known as an embassy of Cameroon, its cuisine and music. Marcel 'Le Lion' Boum is your host and his spirit is everywhere -- in the the killer Ginger Rum drinks he mixes himself, in the cheery facade and vibrant interior with its green moroccan banquettes, animal-print upholstery, and Cameroonian artwork, in the very music that fills the air and certainly in the menu of authentic dishes. There are maffes and yassas from Senegal, ndole, mbongo tjobi, a choice of meat or fish in gombo sauce, plantains and rice. Drink Manu Dibango wine (label of the musician who performs here frequently) or Flag beer from the Ivory Coast. Le Lion will conquer your heart.
