Le Meating

Meating restaurant in Paris’s smart 17th arrondissement is a hearty red-blooded transplant from New York City. This chic eaterie honours all the Manhattan traditions with tables laid with white linens, fine silver and crystal, and red draperies and upholstery, but adds a lighter touch in a gilt-panelled wall decorated with, um, butterflies. The steaks are superb, from T-bone to rumpsteak, imported straight from the USA and broiled to perfection American-style leaving the flesh seared yet tender. The fine fish menu will please those who fancy something lighter and the dessert menu is a delight, featuring dishes like Tanzanian chocolate soup with warm madeleines, ahd home made ice cream. Sunday brunch is authentically American too.
