Just down from the Bon Marche store in Paris’ 7th arrondissement, you’ll find Jean-Baptiste Gay’s Art Deco bistro Les Botanistes, a place that possesses good vibes in spades. The decorative old wall clock stopped chiming the hours a good while ago, but it’s actually rather a fitting addition to a restaurant that has a charming feel of being from another time. Les Botanistes’ unpretentious decor of red and white tiled floors, velvet curtains and bare, varnished old tables will have you feeling right at home, and a glance at the menu of traditional French bistro dishes, expertly crafted by chef Jerome Cadillat, should further convince you you’re in for a real treat.
