Osteria Dal Gobo restaurant near the Grands Boulevards in Paris is a breath of Italian breeze in the centre of the capital. Specifically, it is a breath of Italian opera, with the sounds of arias floating in the air, embroidered drapes between the small dining rooms, theatrical artifacts tucked here and there amidst the red table linens, the chandeliers and candlelit tables, and the ambience so romantic it feels like a caress. This relaxed restaurant has a high Italian factor among its clientele -- always a great sign of authenticity in food and service. Gigi looks after each and every one, serving antipastis, pastas, grilled meats and superb osso bucco with true Italian warmth.

Went to this wonderful eatery on Tuesday evening when Luigi was opening up. He made us very welcome, feeding us with lots of lovely little dishes of cheeses, vegetables garlic bread, fois gras and a glass of red wine. He made our meal to our particular liking. He was wonderful. Best meal we've had in ages. When I go back I will certainly go there again!! Great music played if you like opera. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

Return there year after year for the Best Italian food and fun atmosphere imaginable. Highly recommend this restaurant. We have introduced Luigi and L'Osteria dal Gobo to many friends, who all rave about the food and atmosphere and always ask if we can go there again for dinner meetings.
