'Gothic' meets 'Pop Art' at Dévastée, the chic Parisian label created by designers Ophélie Klère and Francois Alary. Inside their boutique at Ternes, the all black and white prêt-à-porter range combines floating cottons and silks with bold motifs of skulls, ghosts, pagan crosses and pumpkin heads. And the result is utterly elegant – largely thanks to the clever cuts and choice of materials, which emphasise the body in all the right places. Particularly cool are the t-shirts printed with ironic statements like “don’t worry, after death be happy”.
