I admit that I didn't think that this bakery could be any better than lots of others in Paris and that it was all hype, but I was wrong! Their chocolate and pistachio escargot is beyond delicious! Flaky, buttery and light with the perfect amount of filling, this pastry is a must-try for anyone in Paris. Plus, their packaging is very pretty and you are right by the Canal Saint-Martin! Perfect breakfast spot!

Stunning interior, friendly stuff, good prices and of course, the most amazing "pain" your mouth has ever tasted, all in this fine traditional bakery/boulangerie near Place de la Republique. If France is the place for bakeries, then Du Pain et des idees is the perfect place to taste some original escargots, croissants etc. Do not miss to go there and you'll never regret it. Extra tip: there is a wooden picnic table outside where you can sit and enjoy your goodies, just get a coffee from the opposite shop and you got yourself the best breakfast or coffee break.
