A hybrid of Parisian chic and kid-friendly cutesy, Louis Louise is one of the trendiest children's clothing boutiques out there. Every six months, designer Julie Meiler puts out a new collection of clothes for 12-year-olds and under; all bases are covered, from sleek grey sportswear to frilly '70s-style shorts, cashmere jumpers to striped Breton dungarees.

The formula has worked wonders for the brand, which has rapidly expanded overseas since its creation in 2006. In its hometown, Louis Louise runs two stores – one in the 6th, one in the 16th – whose calm atmosphere makes for a far more pleasant shopping experience than you'll get in the big shopping centres. if you're willing to overlook the occasionally conservative tastes (blue for boys, pink for girls) and cough up the requisite amout of euros (€30-150 for a jumper, €13 for a pair of socks), you'll find a lot to like in this sleek, fashionable boutique.
