Time Out says

Over 15 million people are expected to walk down this world-renowned avenue-turned-Christmas market over the festive months.

No introduction needed. Take a world-renowned avenue, string up some Christmas lights, line it with 400 Christmas trees, and you’ve got a recipe for holiday perfection. Maybe the gift shopping isn’t all that great, and maybe the gooey cheesy tartiflette is a bit pricey, but the ambiance is unbeatable. Go head to head with the holiday tourists trying not to spill their hot wine as you wander bedazzled by the lights on all sides. This year, some of the more exciting attractions include traditional merry-go-rounds, various free children’s shows, a huge ice skating rink, plus a colourful assortment of pop-up restaurants and bars serving oysters, champagne, tea, Brazilian food, bistro dishes and Bavarian beer. Take a spin on the famous Ferris wheel on the Place de la Concorde after, and wonder down at the grand, illuminated boulevard below. Tying in with Paris’s ‘Plan Climat’, only LED Christmas lights will be used, and likewise, all artisans, salespeople and servers will replace the usual plastic bags with eco-friendly alternatives and serve mulled wine in reusable cups.
