Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Conservation

The subject of archaeology is more than just conjured images of tomb raiders and fancy excavation tools. Universiti Sains Malaysia's deputy director of Global Archaeological Research centre, Dr. Stephen Chia, will speak on the role of archaeology in cultural heritage conservation in Penang and also in Malaysia. The talk will also touch on issues such as opportunities and challenges involved as well as his experiences from previous and current projects - including the Kuan Im Temple at Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling.
