Time Out says

Concerned about that long list of unpronounceables on that lotion container at the drugstore? Do you want to have greater control of what products you consume? Do you want to buy less and spend less? Do you just want a fun and crafty project to make for yourself or give as a gift? This class will cover how to make a basic lotion and how to modify the recipe for multiple applications. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to take a sample home with you, scented or unscented (Instructor will provide a variety of fragrances and give you info on other scent options). You will also learn enough about the lotion-making process to modify the basic recipe to create sunscreen, herbal lotions with medicinal properties, or make a great-smelling gift! The lotion created in class uses plant-based oil and beeswax. The instructor will share a recipe for lotion using no animal products. Kaesha Neil is an urban ecologist and teacher with a B.S. in Biology and Ph.D. in Plant Biology. She continually strives for greater self-sufficiency in her urban homestead and maintains a home orchard, vegetable garden and pasture.
