Hugo Medina Solo Exhibit "Hands" says
Hugo Medina, well-known muralist and 2016 Governor’s Art Awards nominee, has created a solo exhibit focusing on hands. “I believe a persons hands shows how they lived, what a person lived through, the individuals experiences.”
Medina uses a combination of Direct Painting and the Grisaille technique to combine the traditional with the modern. Direct Painting is a method used to make paintings in a single application. Direct painting requires more planning, artists must consider form and color simultaneously. Grisalle is a monochrome technique, it utilizes various shades of gray resulting in creating images which give the illusion of sculpture.
