Karin Wallén is a freelance journalist and author who has spent many years writing about travel and the outdoors. For several years she was a columnist for Scandinavia’s biggest travel magazine, Vagabond, and in recent years nature-focused experiences have taken up more and more space in her life. Summer means hiking and kayaking, while winter is all about skiing in every form and long-distance ice skating – a good day is a day spent outdoors.
After many years in Stockholm, she’s returned home to Dalarna’s red wooden houses and blue-tinged mountains. With a renewed spark for exploring every corner of Sweden and Scandinavia, she’s off to mountains, villages and cities – most often with her dog in tow.
