Sadly, Time Out Market Boston announced today that its last day open in the city will be January 23.Â
Time Out began gathering Bostonâs most exciting food and drink talents under one roof back in 2017 and the Market officially opened its doors in 2019. Since then, itâs been an honor to showcase the cityâs extraordinary bartenders, chefs and performers, and welcome locals and visitors from around the globe. Calling Boston home has been a dream.
While Time Out Market prepares to say goodbye to Fenway, our separate well known digital media brand, Time Out Boston is staying put and remains deeply committed to covering the best things to do, see and eat across this incredible cityâand to championing the chefs, restaurateurs and creative talents who make Boston one of the worldâs great food cities.
Michael Marlay, CEO of Time Out Market, shared more about the difficult decision:
âFollowing the pandemic, we have seen the Boston Market recover and grow, and we have focused on initiatives driving further growth; however, footfall until today remains inconsistent in the area due to ongoing hybrid working and in addition, operating costs have increased â all of which prevents consistent profitability.â
He continued:
âIt has been an honor to serve Boston, and we have loved our time here. Boston is a fantastic city with outstanding food and cultural scenes. We want to thank our team, our chefs and restaurateurs who truly are the best of the cityâit is thanks to all of them that the Boston
