Focusing on decorative arts between the fall of the Roman Empire and the late Middle Ages, this museum showcases plenty of intricate exhibits.
Focusing on the decorative arts between the fall of the Roman Empire and the late Middle Ages, this museum has intricate gold- and silver-decorated swords and buckles. The absolute highlight of the collection is a spectacular reconstructed room decorated in opus sectile (stone inlay) from a very Late Imperial building at Ostia Antica, well worth the journey all by itself.
