Ancient civilizations from what is now Mexico, used to record their history, beliefs, science, and everyday life on books. Nowadays we know these books as codices.

Join us to learn about the codices created by Mesoamerican civilizations like Mexica, Maya, and Mixtec. Besides, acquire some knowledge on how to make your own codex, and create one during this workshop.

A brief lecture on:
•Mesoamerican civilizations, their culture, and art.
•Mesoamerican Codices

Hands on project:
•Making a codex
•Materials and techniques to create your personalized codex

Lurac is a visual artist, graphics designer, educator, and artivist born and raised in Mexico City. He studied at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and later at California State University, Sacramento. He is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the use of visual art, graphic design, and music to convey emotions and to communicate ideas. He is an Arts Director / Curator at Sol Collective.
