Community Dinner Project: The Agenda!!

Community Dinner Project says
Sacramento's communities are crying out for justice! Each week that City Council is in session, we hold Organic Community Dinners on the steps of city hall, in violation of the anti-homeless laws, to bring the community together for a delicious, nutritious meal, to share information, concerns and solutions, and to pack the mic and demand action from our city council during their meetings after dinner! We are a city, not a business. People are facing homelessness, police harassment and brutality, economic injustice, criminalization, and more. The time for action is NOW. We must come together as a community and address these issues if we truly want change. Please join us for dinner, community fellowship, and community engagement each week!

For some time we have been asking the council to put homelessness on the agenda. They finally gave us a date. On April 7th, they will be having an item on the discussion calender. This item will have Sacramento Steps Forward, City and County staff updating every one on their progress with housing first and other homeless issues. While we are glad to see the city moving in that direction, people are still being dehumanized and criminalized for living without a residence. We need people from the community to come out and speak out against the Anti-homeless ordinances in Sacramento!

Here is another way to help if you can't make it out. Bellow is a note containing contact information for the city council members. Please contact them and let them know you would like to see the Anti-camping ordinance (link also bellow) repealed.
