Athena Tergis - Irish Fiddle says
An evening of incredible Irish melodies awaits, step into a different age with Athena Tergis and Mick Moloney

Athena Tergis (5 string fiddle) and Mick Moloney (vocals, guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, octave mandolin) join forces once again for an intimate afternoon of Irish & Scottish traditional music and song. In an evenening out of time you are transported to an age of Irish American imigrants that used music to symbolize hope and a promise of a new life for their adopted country.

Athena Tergis hails from San Francisco where she released her first album at age 16. Shortly after she moved to Ireland to follow her musical passion where she lived for over 3 years and joining the Sharon Shannon Band. Her musical journey brought her to London and then on to New York where she starred in Riverdance on Broadway for the full year and a half run of the show.

Mick Moloney combines the careers of folklorist, musicologist, arts presenter and advocate, professional musician, and professor of music and Irish studies. In 1999 he was awarded theNational Heritage Award from the National Endowment for the Arts — the highest official honor a traditional artist can receive in the United States. Mick received the Presidential Distinguished Service Award from the President of Ireland in November of 2013.

In 2001 Athena joined up with Mick Moloney, John Doyle and Billy McComiskey in the Green Fields of America playing Traditional Irish tunes and songs at they’re best while exploring the music’s journey to America.
