Faith Against Fracking says
Faith Against Fracking, part of Californians Against Fracking, is organizing a trip to Sacramento on Nov. 12, 11 AM to 1 PM, to share meditation and prayers and deliver over 100 letters from congregations to Governor Brown that urge him to ban fracking. There is a real chance he can be persuaded by faith groups more than any other kind of group because fracking is so obviously a moral issue. Faith leaders will be coming from all over California to this event. Food & Water Watch is working with us to organize at least one bus from the Bay Area.
Working together, we can influence Governor Brown in a significant, impactful way. Let’s persuade him to be a truly moral climate leader by banning fracking in California! Let’s send Governor Brown to the Paris talks as the international climate leader we know he can be!
I invite you to help promote this event to other faith groups as well as your own. If you haven’t already seen it, please take 20 minutes to view the newly revised documentary, Faith Against Fracking, directed by David Braun. The documentary is available to anyone to view, and we encourage congregations to view it together. We’ll provide a discussion guide and a facilitator, if you’d like.

Letter to Governor Brown:
Please pass along information about this event to your own congregations and others. The more people who come, the more impact we’ll have! We plan to have many colorful posters and banners – you are more than welcome to bring your own. We encourage ministers, priests, rabbis, and imams to wear their robes. Rev. Ambrose Carroll, paster of Church by the Side of the Road in Berkeley, and board member of California Interfaith Power and Light, will speak, with several other faith leaders.
We encourage everyone to sign the letter as well as attending the event.
Warm regards,
Frances Aubrey
