THE BEATLES... In their feature film debut, 'A Hard Day's Night,' one of the greatest rock-and-roll comedy adventures ever. The film has a fully restored negative and digitally restored soundtrack. The film takes on the just-left-of-reality style of mock-documentary, following “a day in the life” of John, Paul, George, and Ringo as fame takes them by storm. (1964, 104 min, digital)

'A Hard Day's Night' will be introduced by Center for Sacramento History Photographs Archivist Rebecca Crowther. She will show photographs from the film's 1964 Sacramento premiere and discuss our town's take on the Beatles and fan girl culture.

We Buy White Albums by Rutherford Chang

For the duration of the exhibition, the gallery will function as a record store stocking only numbered copies of the Beatles’ 1968 self-titled double-LP, popularly referred to as the White Album. But rather than selling albums, the anti-store will solicit additional albums for Chang’s collection of already over 1,600 copies.

Before the film, guests are invited to browse the albums, listen to the vinyl, and of course contribute their copies of the White Album to the collection!
