Sacramento Comedy Spot’s inaugural Sacramento Improv Marathon will be held March 11-13, 2016. The marathon is a public celebration of the Comedy Spot’s improv community, with a full schedule beginning Friday, March 11 at 7:00PM and concluding Sunday, March 29 at 9:30PM. The majority of shows and events during the marathon are produced by comedians from the Sacramento comedy scene, ranging from traditional to crazy, with some of the most hilarious improv performers in Sacramento.

Many shows on the marathon schedule are some of the best the Comedy Spot has to offer, including the popular Anti-Cooperation League, YOU! The Musical, and Lady Business. The marathon will also showcase visiting groups, such as the Bay Area’s 5 Play and Made-Up Shakespeare, and local UC Davis collegiate team, Birdstrike Theatre.

Back by popular demand is one of the more crazy, and unpredictable, shows of past events, Strip-prov. Strip poker meets improv in this unrehearsed comedy show, where performers must undress if they break rules set up at the beginning. Don’t worry – strategically placed props prevent the audience from seeing too much... comedy.

In addition to Comedy Spot mainstage acts, improv workshops will be held during the day. These educational sessions will be taught by seasoned performers in the Los Angeles improv scene, including Jeff Sloniker (Midnight Show, Key and Peele) and Curtis Rainsberry (Midnight Show, Key and Peele).
The best deal for admission is the marathon pass, on sale now. Regular pass price is $50.00, but is currently available at a discounted price of $40 until March 1. This pass provides access to all mainstage shows during the three-day run. Individual show tickets are also now available through the website. Workshop registration is not included in the marathon pass price.
