Crocker Art Museum says
The Brazilian sound of Sandy Cressman Music will have you moving in your seat dreaming of the colors, spices, and electric energy of the Federative Republic's rich musical tradition. Upon her discovery of the genre, Cressman began to study Portuguese and the contemporary Brazilian song book. Of her brisk and alluring style, The San Francisco Observer exclaimed, “Cressman pours out her love for the delightfully sensuous and melodious Brazilian lyrics...”

Sacramento’s longest-running summer jazz series offers unrivaled evenings of art and music on third Thursdays, June through September. This year's lineup was crafted from the melodic recommendations of Gary Vercelli, Capital Public Radio’s jazz music director. For the best seat in the house, bring your own chair. Crocker Members can purchase a series ticket and attend all four concerts for the price of three. Each jazz concert consists of two 45-minute sets separated by a 15-minute intermission. During intermission, attendees can enjoy Jazz Chats with Carolyne Swayze and special guests, an Art Spotlight Talk, visit the Crocker’s galleries or Museum Store, or grab dinner or drinks at the Crocker Cafe by Supper Club.
