Tahoe Rim Trail Backpacking says
This section of the Tahoe Rim trail provides the opportunity to relax in the shade of Freel Peak, the tallest summit around Lake Tahoe, rising to a height of 10,881 feet. Depending on conditions and the group’s interest there may also be an opportunity to stand on this glorious summit. The remainder of the trip will include steep uphill climbs including trekking up 1,000 feet in 3 miles to the base of Freel Peak. After rounding out the summit they say it’s “all downhill from there”, though the downhill can be steep and exposed. Other premier locations on this hike include Star Lake, Monument Peak, and Mott’s Canyon.

This trip includes guides, equipment, transportation, and dinners. Minimum age is 12.
