With the closing date for the popular Camping in Style exhibit quickly approaching, the California Automobile Museum is offering a special, behind-the-ropes opportunity for guests and enthusiasts to venture INSIDE most of the trailers to experience the automotive refinery up-close during an evening fundraising event on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Since the exhibit opened last October, visitors from around the world have made their way to the Museum to experience and admire multiple decades of vintage travel trailers. With a focus on trailers from the 1940s and 50s, Camping in Style also includes trailers from the 1930s and early 1960s with familiar names and manufacturers such as Airstream, “canned hams,” and a number of limited edition and custom trailers such as one made by famous designer Brooks Stevens. In addition to venturing inside trailers on display, one trailer will be designated for special photo opportunities. As another event highlight, most of the trailer owners will be on-site at this special behind-the-ropes event to talk with other enthusiasts and guests as they enjoy their light refreshments and drinks.

The “Camping in Style” exhibit will be on display at the California Automobile Museum through Sunday, April 10, 2016.
