Tweed Ride To West Egg Family Picnic says
Greetings, gentle cyclists.

Perhaps you've participated in a Sacramento Tweed Ride 2.0 before? If yes, this will be a simpler ride compared to our last three Sacramento Tweed Rides.*

If you've not cycled with us before--please do! All are welcome! I imagine you will love passing through T Street in the Elmhurst Neighborhood, which includes a bike lane, and M Street, where cyclists may take the whole lane.

We will meet at East Portal Park, near the bocce ball courts (51 & M), ride around East Sacramento at a polite pace perfect for pennyfarthings and the like, and arrive at the West Egg Family Picnic for a leisurely day of listening to old 78s on gramophones in the crisp autumn air, with DJ Junior & DJ Chris Tafoya.

Our ride will depart at noon.

Bring a bike, a picnic, period attire, and your darling selves.

Between now and then, please do brush up on rules of the road, provided on the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates: http://sacbike.org/for-bike-riders/rules-of-the-road/

For more on Tweed Ride attire, here's a Girls on the Grid's blog post on our Winter 2016 Ride. http://www.girlsonthegrid.com/tweed-ride-to-roll-through-sacramento-jan-30th/

* PS. Unlike our previous rides, this one will not include prizes, multiple stops, clothing exchanges, photo booths, live bands, or a narrated tour with historic points of interest. Instead, this ride will take us back to the basics--bikes, historic preservation via older neighborhoods, sustainability, repurposed vintage finds, and gathering for the sake of gathering and enjoying one another's company.
