Doc's Clock

This place was formerly a total dive but, in common with many nearby bars, it had a kindly refit a while back. The mahogany bar was buffed up, the booze selection expanded, and the CD changer now spits out anything from Air to Sufjan Stevens. Just down the road is the similarly revamped Mission Bar (2695 Mission Street, 647 2300), which lacks both the shuffleboard table and the magnificent neon sign of Doc's Clock, but has a great jukebox and adds some of the area's strongest drinks.
