Once through the humble entranceway of what appears to be a small, dark dive, the adventurous are rewarded with a raffish, capacious booze hall with 30ft vaulted ceilings. Upstairs is a small cultural venue, playing host to local bands, DJ nights, literary readings and even the odd play that suit the salty tastes of its Scottish owner. Downstairs, the jukebox cranks favourite obscurities while patrons order fish and chips and settle in with the other unpretentious patrons. The highlight of the drinks selection is a vast and affordable range of single malt whiskies. It may not be on the Spey, but it'll do for a day.
