If you're saddened that San Francisco doesn't look like LA, head to the bar at the Laurel Inn. The place was a nondescript motel until the folks behind the Commodore (home to the Red Room) and the Phoenix (where you'll find the Bambuddha Lounge) got hold of it. The bar here now has a neo-1950s look and bachelor-pad atmosphere.
